Darren Mueller is the head softball coach at North Dakota State University. Mueller assumed the position in 2002, after spending the previous seven seasons as an assistant on the Bisons' staff. In his first two seasons, the Bisons had an 87-21 record. For their efforts, he and his staff have received numerous regional and national coach-of-the-year honors. During his tenure at NDSU, the Bisons have consistently been among the NCAA hitting leaders, both for average and for power. A 1994 graduate of North Dakota State, Mueller has helped lead his alma mater to six straight NCAA tournament appearances, including back-to-back national championship tourney appearances in 1999 and 2000, and in 2002 and 2003.
