The Louisville Slugger TPX SL9X Exogrid is built along a simple concept: Increase handle stiffness and strength without increasing weight. Also by using heat and extreme pressure, the sleeve, inserts and metal wall are bonded to function as a single, solid unit. The Metal in the Exogrid is trimmed away and replaced with carbon composite inserts that are several times stronger and lighter than the metal they replace. At the heart of this TPX SL9X Exogrid baseball bat is the carbon sleeve, which provides a greater handle stiffness than aluminum alone ever could. Unidirectional fibers run the full length of the handle to make sure all the bases are covered. A stiff handle produces more barrel flex, resulting in a maximum trampoline effect and an ultimately, greater performance.
